Pattaya Beach and Jomtien are the best known beaches among tourists and, as a result, very crowdy especially on weekends. However, there are other beaches that are quieter. Wongamat Beach is the ideal place for a peaceful stroll along the beach during the day . Just a few kilometer s from Pattaya Beach, it is always quiet and relaxed Koh Lan, the nearest island that also boasts the cleanest beach, is just offshore from South Pattaya.
Pattaya Beach While most beaches rely simply on the beauty of their natural surroundings for their charm, Pattaya Beach a 4km crescent-shaped sandy bay goes all out to give visitors everything their hearts desire. As abundant as sun, sand and sea along this bustling palm-fringed stretch, are superb hotels, value-for-money shopping malls and market stalls, a huge variety of restaurants, endless sports and leisure activities, and, of course, the bars and discos that have earned it its raucous reputation. The result? Not only the perfect place to let the world pass by, but also one of the world's most energetic beach resorts, a happening place buzzing with modern-day energy, activity and options.
Jomtien Beach Jomtien Beach is divided from the main part of Pattaya by Pratumnak Hill, just south of the city. In contrast to Pattaya Beach, Jomtien is a popular spot for family vacationers and water sports enthusiasts. Jomtien is essentially a residential area with beachside hotels, bungalow complexes, condominiums and restaurants. A wide array of water sport activities can be found, including jet skis, parasailing and small sail boat rental. Jomtien Beach, a long, straight 6km stretch of sandy coastline that is a lot less chaotic and crowded than Pattaya. New hotels, resorts, condominiums, shops and restaurants are rising fast, but they are more spread out and, for now at least, haven't plundered Jomtiens quiet down-to-earth charm.

Cosy Beach Situated in a tranquil little bay between Pattaya and Jomtien is Pattaya's Cosy Beach, nestling at the bottom of a small cliff. Pattaya's Cosy Beach is accessible via steps down the cliff side. If you are visiting Pattaya Cosy Beach for the first time you could easily drive past without noticing, just keep an eye open for the neatly manicured gardens on the cliff top, they directly overlook the beach.Cosy Beach is quite expansive, especially at low tide, and the Southern tip is bordered by a rocky outcrop. The sand on Cosy Beach is quite coarse but well maintained and clean, Cosy Beach is definitely one of the cleanest beaches in Pattaya and it is a great alternative to Pattaya Beach or Jomtien Beach, it's more in keeping with what you expect from a beach in Thailand, isolated, quiet and serene.
Pratamnak Beach Pratumnak Beach in South Pattaya is another of those hidden gems, like Cosy Beach. Pattaya's Pratumnak Beach nestles in one of the picturesque little bays between Pattaya and Jomtien.Pratumnak beach is quite spacious, it is one of the cleanest beaches in Pattaya and it has a gentle laid back atmosphere. One big plus of this beach is that there is a well maintained footpath shaded by the trees, the path links the beaches of Pattaya Park and Dongtan and extends all the way to Jomtien Beach. Pratumnak Beach is one of the best Pattaya beaches for children, there is room for them to run and play, and allocated safe swimming areas. Besides having a smooth sandy beach and being ideal for swimming, Pratumnak Beach has a rocky area which is a popular spot for locals to do a little beach fishing. Maybe you can bring your fishing rod with you and pick up some knowledge form the local fishermen. It is never difficult to find food and drink on the beaches of Pattaya, and Pratumnak Beach is no different, you'll see the usual array of stalls selling food and drink.Pratumnak is a nice beach, one of the best beaches in Pattaya, it has a lot going for it, one thing I like about it is the pathway joining Pratumnak to the beaches of Pattaya Park and Dongtan, with 3 beaches to choose from in this short distance you're bound to find a spot you like.
Dongtan Beach Dongtan Beach is between Jomtien Beach and Pattaya Beach. You can't miss it.When you drive from Pattaya to Jomtien and you are following Thappraya Road to the end where the Jomtien Beach Road starts there is a Police Station and the sign to Dongtan Beach. Just past the Avalon Beach Resort in Jomtien, is known as the gay beach, and is busy every day of the year. It is very popular location for vendors of all types to solicit their services or goods. It is noticably cleaner than most beaches in Pattaya. This stretch of beach reaches up to where the Pattaya Water Park is. This beach even has a public toilet and showers! The road about 50 meters from the beach is open for pedestrians and bicycles only, which means no motor vehicle noise.
Wongamat Beach Wongamat beach in Na Klua, immediately north of Pattaya, is quiet and unpolluted. It doesn't have as many restaurants or expensive resort hotels as it's neighbor to the south, nor the rowdy nightlife, but all these are available for the 10 Baht cost of a 20 minute songthaew ride to Pattaya beach. This Bay is to the west of Pattaya and has small little bays which are very nice and not very busy. Not as busy as Pattaya and Jomtien. There is no Beach Road and no Promenade. No vehicles which in turn means no traffic. There is also a lot less water sport activity since you can't access the Beach with a vehicle to transport the equipment down to the Beach. The beach has little Deck chair businesses where you can buy refreshments and most of them are in shade.
Na Jomtien Beach This 2.9 kilometer stretch of beach south of Jomtien in the sub district of Na Jomtien is unlike most beaches in Pattaya because it has resorts actually "on the beach", unlike Pattaya and Jomtien there is no busy road between the resort and the beach. Na Jomtien Beach is probably more comparable to Koh Samet than it is to Pattaya, the beach itself could be best described as extension of Jomtien Beach without the road and promenade but a little wider in most parts.Na Jomtien Beach on the whole is not very congested, it tends to be crowded around the resorts who provide their own loungers for guests, away from the resorts there are lots of unpopulated areas, deck chair hire is mainly concentrated around the beach bars. You will find isolated areas which are tree lined and ideal for taking your own beach mats and a picnic. Kite boarding and wind surfing are popular on Na Jomtien Beach, you can arrange to have lessons by inquiring Blue Lagoon Water Sports Club next door to The View. The Glass House (photo above) is another popular choice if you like to dine on the beach.
